These sessions introduce the next level of play for young, emerging athletes who want more complex volleyball instruction.
- INTRO (Development) camps are great for developing athletes ages 11-13
- ELITE camps are great for club level athletes ages 11-13.
- Entering Gr 8-9 School Year for 2022-23.
- Grade 7 athletes must email aspirevolleyball@shaw.ca if they wish to participate. (based on availability)
Camp Highlights Include:
Movement – introduction to movement skills and proper body mechanics for each specific position / skill.
Position Specific Skills – introduction to fundamentals of each position.
- Reps, Reps, Reps! – Linking to skills in each position in a game-like setting will offer athletes to receive many repetitions
Pre-Requisites:
- INTRO (Development)
- 2 or more “Beginner” ASPIRE Sessions or experience on a team or other camps
- General Volleyball IQ – understand what a forearm pass, set or hit is.
- Understand how to move to the ball to make controlled contacts to a target
- Game play experience involves 3 contacts (Pass/dig, set, attack)
- ELITE
- General Volleyball IQ – has the ability to link skills between offense and defense and strategize/maximize opportunities in game situations and understands how to correct errors.
- Consistent ball control in all skills when linking between offense to defense.
- Game Play experience involves quick transitions from offense to defense, recovery of ball in out-of-system play
Location: ASPIRE Training Facility – located at 2503 Ellwood Drive SW inside the Sejeong Multicultural Center
Please bring clean indoor running shoes, comfortable gym clothes and a water bottle to the camp each day (kneepads are recommended for athletes and you can discuss this with your coach on the first camp day if unsure of what/where to purchase them)
