U13 - U14 Elite Girls Summer Volleyball Camps 2017  @ Concordia -  - FULL - Updated July 24, 2017



CAMP AUDIENCE: 
  1. Female volleyball athletes who are/were competing on a U13 or U14 club volleyball team in the 2016-2017 Indoor Volleyball Season

    (OR athletes attending junior high school in the Fall of 2017 and intending to play on their school's Senior Volleyball Team

CAMP HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:

 

  1. ✓ High Intensity Skill Refinement - This high intensity camp will review fundamental skills while providing feedback for skill refinement. 

    ✓ Reps, Reps, Reps - Our goal will be to provide the athletes maximum repetitions of these skills, first in isolation, then linking skills for continual play, and finally incorporating their new/improved skills to the game.

  1. ✓ Game Play Training - Modified and full games will be played throughout the week.

  1. ✓ Small class size with lots of individual athlete attention.

  2. ✓ Campers receive a 2017 ASPIRE Summer Camp T-shirt

and will be limited to 28 athletes.‬‬‬

Please note that paid parking is in effect, however, 2-hr free parking may be available along 111 Ave (first right off of 73 St just past Gym).

CAMP AUDIENCE: 


  1. Female volleyball athletes who are/were competing on a U15, U16 or U17 club volleyball team in the 2016-2017 Indoor Volleyball Season   (OR athletes attending high school in the Fall of 2017 and intending to play on their school's Senior Volleyball Team

CAMP HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
  
  1. ✓ Training curriculum planned and led by Dr. Lorne Sawula along with Aspire Staff Coaches and guests. Please check our “Coaches” webpage for bios of our coaching staff. Their expertise is second to none. 

     

  2. ✓ Volleyball Skill Based Training each Day
  1. Athletes will learn to master volleyball fundamentals and will be taught position specific skill development/refinement techniques in small group settings. Each athlete will be evaluated and corrected for proper mechanics. Personal evaluations will be made throughout all skill based training.

  2. ✓ Game Play Training each Day
    ASPIRE’s philosophy is to “learn volleyball by getting inside the game”. This means that our training objective is to link newly taught or refined position specific skills to game play. This training approach allows athletes to get the edge on learning the sport of volleyball and to experience skill success within game play. Personal evaluations will be made during game play.

  3. ✓ Physical Testing and Physical Training
    Athletes will be tested physically by tests utilized by Dr. Sawula over the past 10 years. Athletes will be compared to other athletes that have attended our past camps. Planning and execution instruction for tubing exercises will be provided to all athletes. Athletes are asked to bring a ‘Swiss Ball’ to learn more physical core strength training exercises. 


  4. ✓ Information for the Complete Athlete

    Athletes will be taught about: elite athlete health and nutrition
; mental training process and what is needed to be an elite volleyball athlete
; what it takes to be an elite athlete; playing volleyball in college/university - what is the process?
; questions that are important to you
 - bring them!


    ✓ Excellent Training Facilities - Concordia University College of Alberta’s Ralph King Athletic Centre.


    ✓ Small class size with lots of individual athlete attention (3-5 coaches working with 28 athletes)


    ✓ Campers receive a 2017 ASPIRE Summer Camp T-shirt and a Camp Notebook.

Camp Time: 12:30 pm - 7:30 pm daily (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) & 9:00 am - 4:00 pm daily (Thursday, Friday)
Camp Cost: $575 + GST
