2017 Volleyball Specific Strength and Conditioning Program 
for U15-U18+ Athletes!

Peaking Fitness for Competition

If you are an athlete who would like to become stronger, better and faster this year, this program is for you! ASPIRE has received the honor of working with two amazing Certified Trainers to develop a volleyball specific weight training program for athletes who want to step up their training.

Program Description: 
  • 7-week intensive program to teach, implement and train eager, hard-working U15-U18+ athletes to perform at their highest level through strength and conditioning. 
  • This program will improve volleyball performance by developing physical qualities such as strength, flexibility and stamina in conjunction with skill development. 

 
ASPIRE's Strength and Conditioning Program aims to help volleyball athletes be in peak physical condition. Each multi-week program is designed to supplement and complement each athlete's volleyball training regime and includes:
  • Weight Training: Beginner athletes to weight training will be introduced to the basics of weight lifting and intermediate/elite athletes to weight training will be pushed to train harder and increase overall strength.
  • Take-Home Training: All athletes will be given a personalized program that will include additional work outs to complete during the week before the next session.
  • Small Group Sizes: With only a limited amount of spots available, athletes will be given a lot of feedback and support throughout the 7-weeks at training and at home.
  • March-April session will focus on "fitness for competition" to prepare athletes for their upcoming PROVINCIALS and NATIONALS.

NAIT Strength and Conditioning Lab
Located at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology's Main Campus -  (11762 106 St NW - click for MAP) - NAIT and their brand new Strength and Conditioning Lab offers a variety of fitness-related items to help any athlete become stronger and more physical.


TRAINERS

Greg Gulash (click COACHES for more info)
Greg is the assistant coach of the NAIT Men's Volleyball team where he is responsible for their off-court training. Greg is a certified personal fitness trainer and has coached with many teams and camps alongside coaching clinics and individual sessions for ASPIRE.
Amy Moolyk (click Trainers for more info)
Amy is the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator at NAIT where she oversees ten varsity strength and conditioning programs and community high performance programs.
  • Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology
  • Master of Science in Biomechanics
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
  • NCCP Weightlifting Competition Introduction Certified Coach.

Round 1 - U15-U16

*Due to limited space - all classes will be limited to 15 athletes and will be cancelled if less than 4 athletes are enrolled*


 

Athletes aged 14 to 15 who are beginning to bring physical fitness into play in their volleyball career.

This round - "Fitness for Competition" will teach athletes how to train hard prior to competition without over-training. This program is perfect for all athletes who are training to be at their peak for provincials and nationals.

This round - "Fitness for Competition" will teach athletes how to train hard prior to competition without over-training. This program is perfect for all athletes who are training to be at their peak for provincials and nationals.
